The weekend is over. Maybe you had a little too much to eat, or maybe too much laying around watching a computer or TV. Shake it off and get serious about burning some calories by coming out to High Bridge for a semi-strenuous hike along Camp Paradise Trail with Ranger Bob Flippen. We will meet at the new spacious Camp Paradise parking lot where a comfort station is located and proceed to Camp Paradise Trail. The route will go beneath High Bridge on the Prince Edward County side, along the Appomattox River before emerging from the forest at the site of a Confederate Fort built to guard the approaches to High Bridge. We can stop along the way for a history lesson or just keep metabolizing. Total distance is about 2 miles. Bring water and wear appropriate footwear. No open toe shoes please. Call (434) 315-0457, or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. $4 parking fee applies. Open to all ages.
